Welcome to the WhatsMyBiz Interactive Events Platform. These Interactive Events Terms & Conditions ("Event Terms") govern your participation in, registration for, and use of live entertainment services - including but not limited to Quiz Leagues, Interactive Trivia, Bingo, Karaoke, and DJ Request Systems (collectively, "Events") - hosted via WhatsMyBiz subdomains, live request nodes, and Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
By scanning an event QR code, creating a player profile, or interacting with our real-time quiz or song request software, you agree to be bound by these Event Terms alongside the companion documents below.
Companion documents (all published under https://docs.whatsmybiz.app):
1.1. To participate in a live Event, players register a profile at the address shown on the venue screen for that Event - play.whatsmybiz.app, buzzer.whatsmybiz.app, qmb.whatsmybiz.app or lr.whatsmybiz.app.
1.2. Registration requires a distinct player (or team) name only. No mobile number is required to play, and none is collected. To recognise you on a later night, your device is issued a random token that is stored in your browser; you can remove it at any time by clearing that browser's data, and your record can be removed on request (see section 7).
1.3. Teams. On qmb.whatsmybiz.app you may play either as an individual or as part of a team, and both are supported. On play.whatsmybiz.app the league records individual players: a team name may be used as a player name, and scores are kept per player.
1.4. You agree to provide accurate identification data. WhatsMyBiz reserves the right to terminate, rename, or purge any profile containing offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate language without prior notice.
2.1. The Game Mechanics. Events use real-time software logic to calculate scores and keep the league record. Two special mechanics may be announced by the host during a night:
unanswered ("blank") questions are safe.
Both are announced by the host at the start of the round and are applied by the host's ruling; the platform's ledger records what the host applies (see section 4). The names above are the platform's names for these mechanics, and a host may rename them at the venue.
2.2. No-Gambling Safeguard. All trivia, quiz league, and bingo activities facilitated by WhatsMyBiz are intended strictly for promotional, skill-based, and recreational entertainment purposes. Under no circumstances do these Events constitute a regulated gambling house, casino operation, or betting pool under the South African National Gambling Act.
2.3. Prizes and Standings. Any physical prizes, cash rewards, vouchers, or tournament accolades are sponsored and fulfilled directly by the host of that Event - which may be the venue, or WhatsMyBiz itself where WhatsMyBiz is the host - and not by WhatsMyBiz in its capacity as platform provider.
3.1. "As-Is" Real-Time Infrastructure: You explicitly acknowledge that real-time event applications require synchronized data transmission over complex external environments. The platform is provided strictly on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.
3.2. Third-Party Dependency: WhatsMyBiz relies on local cellular networks, venue-provided local Wi-Fi, end-user mobile device hardware, battery life, browser configurations, and third-party APIs (including Meta's WhatsApp Business infrastructure).
3.3. Exclusion of Technical Liability: To the maximum extent permitted under South African law, WhatsMyBiz and its operating entity (ORION269) shall not be held liable, financially or otherwise, for:

live event cycles.
3.4. No Financial Redress: In the event of a catastrophic server outage, power failure (including loadshedding disruptions not mitigated by venue backup systems), or internet blackouts that end an Event prematurely, players waive all rights to claim financial compensation, prize equivalents, or legal damages from WhatsMyBiz or the host venue.
4.1. The software ledger, data streams, and automated leaderboard rankings serve as an operational tool for the live event coordinator.
4.2. The designated human host (the Quiz Master, Bingo Caller, or event DJ) retains executive authority to override the digital system.
4.3. The host has the power to:

4.4. The host's final live ruling is binding on the night and is not subject to technical support escalation.
5.1. Queue Infrastructure Only: The WhatsMyBiz platform acts exclusively as a cloud-based communication interface to queue user-generated requests, text dedications, and track selections.
5.2. Copyright Licensing: WhatsMyBiz does not provide, host, stream, or broadcast audio catalogs or mechanical musical works.
5.3. Venue Obligations: The physical playback of music, tracking of metadata, and public performance compliance are the exclusive legal responsibility of the physical host venue and their performing audio engineers. The venue must ensure they hold active, valid public performance licenses from the relevant copyright collection societies within the Republic of South Africa, including the South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA) and the South African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO). WhatsMyBiz carries zero liability for unlicensed musical playback occurring within a venue.
6.1. When using our interactive tools to broadcast text, player names, or requests onto shared venue display screens, users are strictly prohibited from submitting content that is:

6.2. Any user found violating these content guardrails will face immediate, permanent exclusion from the interactive database, and their profile will be blacklisted across the tournament lifecycle.
7.1. In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), the personal information we process for live Events is: the player or team name you choose; a random device token that identifies your device/browser to the league; your answers, scores and the night you played; and, where a host records it, a mobile number (note: no mobile number is currently collected by the platform - see 1.2). It is processed solely to run the league, keep scoring integrity, prevent cheating, resolve disputes about a night, and maintain standings.
7.2. We keep player records only for as long as they serve those purposes: to run the league you played in and to answer a query or dispute about a night. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing. A host can remove a night's points from the league table at any time; the underlying record of that night's questions and answers is kept so that a disputed night can be answered afterwards. We delete or anonymise a player's record on request (7.3).

Applicable subdomains: lr.whatsmybiz.app (karaoke at /karaoke, DJ requests at /dj-requests).
lr.whatsmybiz.app logs the entry into the host's administration layout. Submission does not guarantee that your track will be played or that you will be called to the stage.
crowd energy, venue operating hours, and structural curation, and may skip tracks, re-order the queue, alter the rotation order, or decline submissions without explanation or liability.
non-consenting patrons to perform specific songs is strictly forbidden.
hidden-innuendo aliases in the "Singer Name" or "Requester" fields will result in an immediate queue purge.
flagged for prank targeting or foul language will be deleted without notice, and the originating device may be blocked from making further submissions for the remainder of the night.

lr.whatsmybiz.app, a user can only see their own requesthistory and submission states. You are not shown the identity, contact details, track choices, or queue placement of any other patron in the venue.
operates an internal-facing administration queue layout.
devices and are not displayed on public venue projection screens or TVs. Announcements are made verbally from the stage. (This applies to the request queues described in this section. Quiz nights publish a live scoreboard showing player names to the room, which is how the game is played.)
